I have almost 20 years of computer experience, on systems ranging from the smallest personal computers to large mainframe systems. My skill set includes not only software development on various platforms, but a broad range of hardware abilities as well. I am skilled in multiple programming languages including C++, Pascal, PHP, Perl and HTML, as well as other languages such as BASIC (Visual or otherwise) and even some assembler. These skills have been applied to numerous projects, including such things as library cataloging systems, contact management, hardware control, databases, custom controls (OCX and ActiveX), Internet and Intranet sites, and E-Commerce.

Work History

	2000 - Present	Systems Programmer Worked as a core member of the development team for DataTrade, LLC in Springfield, MO, a recognized leader in COLD storage and online report management. Was responsible for key software components, including both user interface tools in FLTK and wxWindows on Windows platforms as well as some Linux. Was also responsible for LAN internet connectivity, firewall, email, and web server operation on Linux and FreeBSD platforms. Skill set included C++, Python, HTML, PHP, Perl, TCP/IP, Database, SQL (MySQL and MS SQL), Visual Studio, etc.
	1996 - 2000	Independent Consultant Worked as an independent computer consultant, offering software development, web design, PC and network troubleshooting, and related services. Development projects have ranged from simple command line utilities to specialized applications, custom controls (OCX and ActiveX), and application extensions. Web projects focused on interactivity, including forms, scripts, and E-Commerce development. Unfortunately the dot-com era took many websites down, including several that I had designed. 	1998-2000	Solutions Developer Working both as an employee and as an independent consultant, I worked with Softideas, Inc., a professional consulting firm in Dallas. Solutions developed included bar coding hardware and software integration, wireless RF device interfacing, integration of shipping and accounting applications, custom control (OCX and ActiveX) creation, network integration, database development, and interactive web site design.
	1992-1997	Systems Programmer Worked as a software developer for TH Enterprises, a consulting firm in Garland, Texas. Responsible for software development, technical and user documentation, and technical support.
	1988-1992	Microcomputer Specialist Worked as a Microcomputer Specialist for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. Wrote some software, and was primarily responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of 600+ microcomputers on the premises, including oversight of all hardware and software issues.
	1987-1988	Programmer Worked as a programmer for National Business Systems, a producer of Microfiche in Lubbock, Texas. Wrote and modified programs to extract data from customer computer media for output to microfiche via COM recorders.
